Fireflies

No Longer Available

The fearlessness of fireflies has always fascinated me. It doesn't matter if they're in flight, flickering in the grass, or frustrated by the glass jar, they send out their signals of life.

A-bloom

A kissed bloom... Sly kept it simple. The scanning process added shading that doesn't exist in the all pink petals.

Amber Fields

Jan. 2008 12 x 9 acrylic [claimed]
Who knows what the best harvest of 2008 might be? Any guesses?

Candles

2008 12 X 9 acrylic
Orange, book and candles-- a study completed at the end of January, just before I decided to spend a week visiting the local hospispa. The paintings completed after I returned home will be put up in March. The dark tones of this piece provided omnious hints to what happened next.

Wipe Out

2008 12 X 9 acrylic
Here's what happens when toilet paper is used to create texture.

Battle Field

2008 12 X 9 acrylic
Former working conditions come to mind with this one. Time bombs are going off in all directions. Retirement means I no longer have to sneak out of a bunker.

Twinkle and his friends.

Sunrise

A new day dawns.

Stripes

Hey, maintaining the bits of white space was difficult. The over runs add "interest." Watercolor is a difficult medium for a control freak.

Zinnias

This was actually one of my first water color pieces. It's a great example of why I paint to music rather than from reality.

Posey

Playing with color and attempting to shade areas.
