Topsy Turvy

2-08 12 x 9 acrylic
Sometimes it's impossible to tell the top from the side.. Things are simply topsy turvy. This piece has no top or bottom. I do have to say that it looks like Pepto Bismal has been splattered on this one. Having the flu also turns my world topsy turvy.

Who knows what creatures lurk in the shadows? What critters can you spot?

Embarrassed

Not Available
Not one brush stroke was used to create this one. I was finishing up tubes of paint by simply squirting. Then I used a palette knife to smear the paint squirts. The texture is the most interesting feature of the piece. Part of me thinks I should be embarrassed for showing this mass to anyone....... BUT leaving the judge behind is part of my goal, so I told the mental critic to hit the road. Here it is.

Jazzy

Not Available
The blackness of my illness dominates here, but the jazz music playing in the background must have added a spark of life to this one. In the center of the darkness, I sense the emergence of an orchid.

Ladybug

Feb. 2008 12 x 9 acrylic
The dis-ease of my being continues to show up, but the lady bug is interesting. Does that bug have any particular symbolic significance?

Creepy Crud

Feb. 2008 12 x 9 acrylic
Crude crud creeps all over this creation. I've discovered that if I paint when I'm at a weak point, it shows. Recovering from the February crud took longer than usual.
